Why do we stop asking questions as we grow up? When did we stop becoming curious about the world around us and start accepting things the way they have always been?
Welcome to The Curiosity Quirk. I am Kashhvi, a high school student tired of the textbook approach to science – and by extension, life. So, I am on a mission to change that. The Curiosity Quirk is a blog for all the people who have lost their inquisitive tendencies to society’s orthodox way of life. It aims to reignite the excitement and baffling joy of asking questions to better understand the world around. The Curiosity Quirk ultimately aspires to build a community of intrinsically curious people and create a future where people learn to harness the power of asking intellectually puzzling questions wherever they go. Here, no question is too silly or too strange to be asked, so come aboard as we explore all things life and science.

Now, a bit of storytime on how The Curiosity Quirk came to be. As a child, I was always quite shy and quiet - hesitant to ask questions. But I vividly remember how I had this big, fat yellow book called Did You Know and inside it were the logic and mechanisms behind some of the most mundane things. I loved reading that book! I would read it everyday until it eventually got over. But over the years, learning metamorphosed into plainly checking off boxes. I was so fixated on my grades that learning seemed like this huge hurdle and something that I just wasn't good at. My grades were falling and I wasn't understanding nor interested in what they were teaching at school anymore. Everything I was studying seemed to have no meaning outside of my textbook and my exam. My whole life was just cramming to pass the next exam – and oh, were there so many exams! Somewhere along this journey I had lost myself and along with it, my creativity. We often fail to recognise the crux of the problem, and for me it was the fact that I had stopped being curious; I was simply memorising facts and methods to regurgitate on my exams. It took me quite some time to realise that I couldn't go on like that anymore. I realised there must be people out there who also feel the same way and have been forced to believe that this is what life is. With that, I finally decided to create a platform where we can explore life together and discover more about the world as well as ourselves. And now here I am, writing this post in hopes that people out there find something to learn everyday leading them into an introspective, thought-provoking, nostalgic – or simply relatable – experience.
From discussing How Anime Changed My Perspective On Math to the logic behind How Scents Hack Our Brains, here we will be discussing prosaic concepts through an inquirer’s lens. Once again, welcome to The Curiosity Quirk and it's great to have you here.
